Ok so I know fiverr isn’t all that new, and according to Wikipedia(the universal knowledge holder) it was founded in 2009 and launched in 2010. But fiverr (yes 2 Rs) is new to me by way of the lovely WYPR programing where a very hip guy offered a voice recording in the vocal style of Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget. I was intrigued.
It was so exciting, the idea that there is a community out there, a way to have people pay you for your time, effort, and skills. No matter how odd, or out-of-the-box, artistic, or otherwise only freelance-able.
I am hooked, I went home, signed up and put up two “Gigs” right away. One that is fun and quirky a grab bag that contains a random 3 pieces of my art for $5. The other is a bit more like a subscription to a fiverr only art club, where for $5 you can purchase that month’s fiverr exclusive piece of my art, the art will be created each month and signed and numbered and only available through fiverr.
I encourage everyone to check out what I like to call fiverr-land and enjoy everything from the weird to the wonderful. I am thinking this is where I may be getting a lot of my Christmas presents there this year.
